About Us
The Dortch family of companies has been operating in mid Michigan for over 70 years. Originally, the family was in the dry cleaning business which was started near downtown flint around 1938. Today Troy Cleaners is run by Dave Motter and Debbie Dortch-Motter, with locations in Genesee, Oakland and Livingston counties.
In 1987 the family opened their first Subway restaurant on Dort Hwy in Flint, at the time there were less than a thousand Subway locations around the country. Today there are over 32,000 Subway stores worldwide.
In 1998 the Dortch family opened their first Qdoba Mexican Grill in Grand Blanc; eventually they would build 14 locations in Genesee, Oakland, and Wayne counties. Ten years later, Qdoba corporate (owned by Jack in the Box) offered to repurchase all Dortch locations, this transaction was completed in November of 2008.
